Use the Granite Canyon entrance when coming into the park the day of the wedding! See our Q&A page for more information on this!
What gate entrance should I use getting into Grand Teton National Park?
There are 4 gates in GTNP; Only 2 of them will really apply to us:)
If coming from Victor/Driggs, ID:
Use the Granite Canyon entrance. This is the Southwestern gate and will save you 30+ minutes using this gate as opposed to the Moose gate! I have noticed this does not show on the gps as the default seems to be the Moose entrance. So to go through this gate, you will have to manually input this into your gps!
If coming from Jackson, WY:
Use the Moose entrance. This is the Southern gate & it is the busiest gate in the entire park. A lot of times this gate will have a line to get into…especially between the hours of 9a-12p. It is recommended to factor in an extra 15-20 minutes to get through this gate esp. during peak times. The traffic can get backed up exiting the park as well through this gate.
Will there be entrance fees to get into Grand Teton National Park for the wedding ceremony?
Unfortunately, yes there will be a $35 entrance fee per vehicle. The good news is that this $35 pass is valid for 7 days so everyone will be set for the week with just that one pass per vehicle.
Where will the wedding ceremony be?
The wedding ceremony will be in Grand Teton National Park. The ceremony will start at 5:00p in the Mountain View Turnout Site. Family/ group pictures will follow the ceremony with all guests required to leave the site by 6:00p (park policy). A Reception dinner in Jackson will follow the ceremony at 8:15p.
Will there be a reception dinner?
Yes, there is going to be a reception dinner to follow the ceremony in Jackson Hole at Gun Barrel Steak & Game House. The meal will be paid for however any alcoholic beverages will be at your own expense.
Does it matter what I wear the day of the wedding?
We want everyone to be wearing the same color palette for the sake of pictures. With such a small guest list, everyone will be in our pictures so we want everyone to look their best. Think of cowboy cocktail attire meeting black tie!
GALS: Dress or pantsuit in black or any of the below colors.
GUYS: Button down in black or any of the below colors, black blazer if preferred, black felt cowboy hat if preferred, jeans or black slacks, boots or dress shoes
Where should I stay?
This is totally up to you! Jackson has countless options but if you are looking for a more affordable lodging experience, check out the Victor/Driggs Idaho area. Victor is only 45 minutes away from Grand Teton & Jackson ! Cody and I will be staying in Victor the first part of our trip.
